The Zhibek Zholy checkpoint on the Kazakh side will be closed starting February 5, 2025, due to the ongoing four-month closure of the Gisht-Kuprik checkpoint by Uzbekistan for construction work.
The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan informs that individuals crossing the border through the above-mentioned checkpoints on foot and by vehicles are advised to reconsider their routes, a statement from the committee reads, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
The committee notes that border crossing for pedestrians will be available through the Kaplanbek, Konysbayev, Syrdarya and Tselinnyi border checkpoints, and for freight vehicles - through Konysbaev, Atameken, Kazygurt and Tazhen checkpoints.
Border crossing for railway transport will be available through the Saryagash and Beineu railway checkpoints.
