The Kurmangazy Children’s Creativity Center in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region has officially welcomed around 100 young students, marking a milestone in cultural and educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
During his meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has conveyed his appreciation to Kazakhstan for its support of the Karabakh region and the steady advancement of bilateral ties, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
“We are pleased with the complete coincidence of views on the topics discussed, as well as the focus on strengthening our allied cooperation,” said President Aliyev.
The Azerbaijani leader commended Kazakhstan for its notable achievements in social and economic development, as well as its growing stature on the global stage. He expressed confidence that under President Tokayev’s leadership, “Kazakhstan will continue to follow the path of development and implementation of an independent foreign policy based on national interests.”
President Aliyev also extended his gratitude for Kazakhstan’s longstanding and unwavering support for Azerbaijan.
“Throughout many years, when our lands were under occupation, Kazakhstan consistently expressed support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan,” he emphasized.
President Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is now entering a new phase - the post-conflict period focused on peacebuilding with Armenia - and praised the role the United States has played in facilitating this normalization process.
He remarked that the recent presentation of the Middle Corridor initiative was marked by a productive exchange of perspectives, which is expected to continue.
On economic cooperation, President Aliyev highlighted the effectiveness of intergovernmental commissions in fostering deeper trade and economic collaboration, as well as in increasing mutual trade turnover.
“The joint investment fund, which we have created, also has huge potential. Several projects are now under implementation and consideration,” President Aliyev said.
He further expressed appreciation for Kazakhstan’s contributions to Karabakh’s reconstruction.
“The Kurmangazy Children's Creativity Center is actively operating today. We inaugurated it together. We are deeply thankful to Kazakhstan for this generous contribution to the development and restoration of the Karabakh region. Today, approximately 100 children are undergoing training in this center,” President Aliyev said.
The Azerbaijani president noted that the Center had become a powerful symbol of the friendship between the two nations.
He also mentioned the successful organization of Cultural Days between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and suggested turning such initiatives into a regular tradition.
"Such events should be held on a regular basis. Perhaps we should also consider developing a Cultural Cooperation Roadmap to ensure that Cultural Days are organized not only in the capitals but also in the regions," he suggested.
President Aliyev concluded by pointing to the promising potential for joint efforts in the energy sector, encompassing both conventional and renewable energy sources.
