Thailand is reducing the visa-free stay period for citizens of Kazakhstan and several other countries from 60 days to 30 days.

The new rules will take effect on September 15, 2026, following a decision by Thailand’s Cabinet, according to the Kazakh Embassy in Thailand.

Once the changes come into force, Kazakh citizens will be covered by the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Thailand on visa exemption for holders of national passports.

Under the agreement, citizens of Kazakhstan will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 calendar days per entry, provided that their total stay does not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.

Kazakh travelers planning trips to Thailand are advised to take the new immigration rules into account when arranging their travel.

Those who plan to stay longer than 30 days will need to obtain the appropriate visa in advance.
