Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov held a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on August 7 in the city of Cholpon-Ata.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing Kyrgyzstan - Armenia relations, expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, and exchanged views on regional and international issues, 24.kg reported.

According to the presidential press service, Sadyr Japarov congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his appointment as Prime Minister of Armenia and wished him success in his future endeavors.

He noted the importance of further strengthening relations between Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, which are based on friendship, mutual respect, and shared values.

According to the President, the talks should give new impetus to bilateral cooperation and identify new areas of cooperation.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the development of trade and economic ties. Sadyr Japarov emphasized the need to increase mutual trade, develop industrial cooperation, and attract investment.

Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, congratulated Sadyr Japarov on Kyrgyzstan’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. He noted that this will create new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries on international platforms.

The Prime Minister of Armenia also noted the economic success of the Kyrgyz Republic, the growth of investment projects, and the country’s development. According to him, this creates conditions for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Separately, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of improving transport connectivity in the South Caucasus region, which, in his opinion, will contribute to the development of trade and strengthening of economic ties.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further development of Kyrgyzstan - Armenia cooperation in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect.
