During his state visit to Pakistan, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss expanding transport and trade cooperation, including the use of Karachi and Gwadar ports.
The sides explored a wide range of bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, logistics, energy, infrastructure, and cultural and humanitarian projects, The Caspian Post reports via the Kyrgyz president's official website.
The Pakistani prime minister noted that, with effective implementation of joint initiatives, bilateral trade could grow to $200 million in the coming years.
The talks also focused on developing transport infrastructure, advancing railway projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan corridor, and implementing the strategically important CASA-1000 energy project, which will enhance Kyrgyzstan’s access to global markets.
