During his working visit to the US, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has met in Washington, D.C., with Senator James Risch, Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and several members of Congress to discuss political cooperation, interparliamentary dialogue, and opportunities to expand trade and investment between the two countries.
President Japarov emphasized that the United States is one of Kyrgyzstan’s key foreign policy partners, noting Bishkek’s commitment to developing friendly relations and constructive engagement, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
He expressed confidence that strengthening interparliamentary ties would help deepen this strategic partnership.
“Interparliamentary cooperation enhances political dialogue and creates opportunities to exchange legislative experience,” Japarov said.
Turning to economic matters, the Kyrgyz leader underlined his country’s openness to US investors, pointing out the favorable business climate and numerous prospects for collaboration in trade and industry.
Senator Risch welcomed these initiatives, highlighting that political dialogue and parliamentary cooperation help improve communication with the business community and facilitate stronger economic ties.
American lawmakers also praised Kyrgyzstan’s efforts in peacefully resolving border issues with its neighbors - a step seen as key to regional stability and development.
