Kyrgyzstan’s U-23 team has suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Saudi Arabia at the Asian Cup.
The only goal of the match came in the 88th minute, sealing the win for the hosts, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Earlier, in the 34th minute, Kyrgyz player Arsen Sharshenbekov received a red card after a VAR review by referee Fu Ming.
The team will next face Vietnam on January 9.
The tournament is being held in Saudi Arabia with 16 teams divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
This result puts pressure on Kyrgyzstan as they aim to secure a spot in the knockout stage.
