Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have signed a Treaty on Allied Relations, marking a significant step in strengthening ties between the two Central Asian neighbors.

The agreement was signed by Japarov and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev following bilateral talks, the press service of Kyrgyz President said.

The signing ceremony also included an exchange of 12 bilateral documents in the presence of the two leaders.

Among the agreements was a treaty concerning sections of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border, further highlighting the countries’ efforts to deepen cooperation and resolve border-related issues.

The documents were signed on July 30 during Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
