Kyrgyzstan, China Move to Direct Construction Supplies

Kyrgyzstan is moving to strengthen cooperation with China in the construction sector, as Minister of Construction Nurdan Oruntaev took part in a business event in Urumqi focused on establishing direct supplies of construction materials between companies from the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the event brought together more than 30 major Kyrgyz construction firms and over 70 manufacturers from Urumqi, creating a platform for practical discussions on building direct supply chains, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Participants examined ways to improve product quality, technical standards, and logistics, with the aim of making cross-border cooperation more efficient.

Officials noted that the new format is designed to attract modern technologies to Kyrgyzstan’s construction industry and boost its overall competitiveness, while also reducing costs and delivery times for essential materials.

The meeting was organized within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Chinese (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region) Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation, operating under the Trade Mission of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic. The initiative is expected to give fresh momentum to bilateral trade and expand long-term partnerships in the construction sector.
