Kyrgyzstan to Chair 2026 SCO Summit

The Kyrgyz Republic will assume the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), as confirmed in the Tianjin Declaration adopted at the organization’s anniversary summit.

The declaration states that Kyrgyzstan’s tenure will be guided by the motto: “25 Years of the SCO: Together for Sustainable Peace, Development, and Prosperity”, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The next SCO Heads of State Council meeting is scheduled for 2026 and will be hosted in Kyrgyzstan.
