Kyrgyzstan to Host Spectacular Opening and Closing Ceremonies of 2026 Nomad Games

Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek, will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the VI World Nomad Games in the fall of 2026.

In an interview with Birinchi Radio, Nursultan Adenov, Head of the WNG Secretariat, provided an update on preparations for the international event, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

“Preparations for the 2026 Games began well in advance. The organizing committee, including representatives from all relevant ministries, has been established. According to the schedule, the Games will begin in early September 2026. Invitations have already been sent to 100 countries. A new multilingual website with detailed information on the VI World Nomad Games will be launched soon,” Adenov said.

He highlighted that the main innovation for 2026 is that the opening and closing ceremonies will be held at Bishkek Arena, which can accommodate 51,000 spectators. Following the opening ceremony, all sports and cultural events will continue in the Issyk-Kul Region, where the necessary infrastructure is already in place.

Adenov also confirmed that the sports program has been finalized, featuring multiple styles of wrestling, equestrian events, intellectual competitions, and traditional national games.

The V World Nomad Games were previously held in Astana in 2024.
