Kyrgyzstan had installed 160.558 kilometers of barbed-wire fencing along the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border in Batken region.
According to Batken oblast administration, meeting chaired by Abdikarim Alimbayev, head of Border Service of Kyrgyzstan discussed issues related to further engineering development of the border, strengthening border security, and combating smuggling, Kabar reported.
The event was attended by heads of security agencies, law enforcement agencies, and local government administrations in the region.
During the meeting, issues related to engineering development of the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the border, preventing illegal activities, and strengthening cooperation between government agencies were discussed.
Following the meeting, instructions were given to ensure border security, ensure timely and high-quality installation of engineering fences, and strengthen the fight against smuggling.
