CIS to Launch Election Observation Mission in Belarus on Dec. 18

The CIS will open its election observation to monitor the presidential election in Belarus on 18 December, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev told journalists, The Caspian Post reports, citing BelTA news agency.

"We are opening the mission tomorrow. The election observation center in the CIS Executive Committee is already up and running," Lebedev said.

"We have received an invitation from the Republic of Belarus and are deploying this mission," he added.

The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for 26 January 2025.
