Germany's embassy in Tehran announced on its Instagram page that it will resume accepting new Schengen visa applications beginning January 7.
TLScontact, the visa service provider, will activate new waiting lists within 48 hours to allow applicants to register, according to the announcement, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.
Individuals who previously held TLS accounts will automatically receive emails with instructions on joining the waiting list.
New applicants can create accounts on the TLS system to register, the embassy said.
The embassy added that personal information entered in user accounts must exactly match passport details.
Visa processing at the German embassy has become more limited in recent months, particularly during the June conflict between Iran and Israel, according to applicants who described stricter requirements.
Germany is among the most popular destinations for Iranian visa applicants seeking to travel to European countries within the Schengen Zone, which allows passport-free movement across 27 European nations.
The embassy did not specify how many appointments would be available or provide details on processing times.
