Armenia, Iran Focus on Enhancing Tourism Cooperation

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with Anoushirvan Mohseni-Bandpey, Deputy Minister of Tourism at Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, to discuss the prospects for deepening cooperation in the tourism sector between the two countries.

The discussions centered on ways to increase tourism flows between Armenia and Iran, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

"Armenia and Iran are long-time friendly countries, and our cooperation in the tourism sector, especially in recent years, has been steadily developing. In 2024 alone, around 179,000 tourists visited Armenia from Iran, and from January to November 2025, we have already recorded 166,000 visits," Papoyan said.

Discussions were also held on several other issues related to the development of the sector.
