A drone attack has damaged residential buildings and a railway bridge in Russia’s Rostov Region, disrupting train services and injuring at least one person, Rostov Governor Yury Slyusar said.
Slyusar said that several apartment buildings in different parts of Rostov-on-Don were damaged, prompting the evacuation of residents. Fires broke out at several locations, and the Western Bridge was closed to traffic, according to strana ua.
In the nearby city of Bataysk, a drone struck an unoccupied high-rise building in a residential complex, triggering a fire.
Slyusar said Russian air defenses had intercepted more than 50 drones across the region since the previous evening.
Six residents of Rostov-on-Don sought medical assistance following the attack, the governor added.
Ukrainian and Russian opposition media outlets reported a fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil terminal, previously known as Yug Rusi. The reports have not been independently verified.
Video footage circulating online reportedly shows a drone striking a high-rise residential building.
Slyusar also said two vessels in the city of Azov, in the Rostov Region, were damaged in what he described as a Ukrainian attack. No deaths or injuries were reported aboard the vessels.
The reported damage to residential buildings and railway infrastructure has disrupted transport and prompted emergency responses across the region.
