Russia has introduced a temporary ban on the import and circulation of food products from several Georgian companies, affecting major wine producers as well as manufacturers of soft drinks and mineral water.
The sanitary restrictions took effect on October 9, 2026, according to Pro Georgia.
The measure applies to products from the following Georgian companies:
Teliani Valley

Askaneli Brothers
Wine Man
Zedazeni (JSC Georgian Beer Company)
Coca-Cola Bottlers Georgia

The Russian document refers to Article 5, Part 4 of the Customs Union’s Technical Regulation on Food Safety. Under the provision cited, products that fail to comply with the technical requirements must be withdrawn from circulation either voluntarily by economic operators or following instructions from authorized state supervisory bodies.
“If the food products specified in this letter are found, immediate measures must be taken to remove them from circulation,” the Russian authorities’ document states.
The document calls for the immediate removal of the specified food products from circulation if they are found.
The restrictions are described as a temporary sanitary measure. The document does not specify how long the suspension will remain in force.
