Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Türkiye will not allow itself to be drawn into the ongoing conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran, despite escalating tensions in the region.
Speaking during a Ramadan fast-breaking dinner, Erdogan stated that Turkish authorities had intercepted a third Iranian ballistic missile that was heading toward Turkish territory, emphasizing that the country remains on high alert, The Caspian Post reports, citing Al Jazeera.
“During this process, we are taking all necessary preventative measures against any threats to our airspace, just as we did last night,” Erdogan said.
He stressed that the government’s primary objective is to prevent Türkiye from becoming involved in the expanding regional conflict.
“Our main priority is to keep our country away from this pit of fire,” he added.
