Lithuania Warns Citizens Against Travel to Russia Amid Plague and Strikes

Lithuania has updated its travel advisory for Russia, warning citizens about possible cases of pneumonic plague in the Irkutsk region and the risks posed by Ukrainian strikes on targets inside Russian territory.

The overall warning level remains unchanged. Lithuania continues to advise its citizens against travelling to Russia and urges those already in the country to leave immediately, according to Delfi.

In its revised guidance, Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry advises against travelling to Irkutsk and the surrounding region, citing reports of possible pneumonic plague cases.

The ministry also urged Lithuanian citizens to exercise caution amid Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory. Travellers are advised to avoid areas near oil refineries and other major industrial facilities.
