Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom is planning to ship key equipment for Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in 2027, according to Alexey Likhachev, the head of the corporation, who spoke to reporters.
Likhachev stated that the project continues to be a priority for Rosatom. He said that the company’s enterprises are continuing the production of equipment for the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant according to schedule, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.
He added that construction progress for the reactor of Unit 2 has exceeded 60 percent, while the steam generators for the same unit are 50 percent complete.
He further noted that Rosatom plans to begin shipping key equipment next year. According to him, the company is also continuing casting and forging metal blanks intended for equipment for Unit 3.
Likhachev also said that Rosatom is prepared to send its specialists back to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant once the military conflict has ended.
Commenting on personnel deployment, he said Rosatom is ready to quickly mobilize and return its employees to Iran at full capacity once there is certainty that there is no risk of renewed military conflict or any threat to the lives and health of its staff.
However, he added that, based on recent global media reports, the situation remains difficult.
