Türkiye's Istanbul police are searching for a suspected drug courier who posed as a pilot while transporting illegal substances.

The case began on September 15, when customs officers at Istanbul Airport discovered 26.3 kilograms of drugs in the luggage of a passenger who had arrived from Mexico, ntv reports.

During the investigation, police identified two additional suspects, one of whom was reportedly wearing a pilot’s uniform. Security cameras captured the suspect leaving the airport.

One of the suspects later went to a hotel and handed a suitcase containing drugs to a Mexican national.

Police arrested both men at the hotel and found more than 25 kilograms of illegal substances inside the room.

The search for the drug courier who operated under the guise of a pilot is ongoing.
