Ukraine Arrests 17-Year-Old Suspected of Lacing Drugs Sent to Soldiers

Ukrainian police have detained a 17-year-old girl suspected of offering free drugs to Ukrainian military personnel, with capsules containing potentially lethal doses of methadone.

Two servicemen died after taking the drugs while absent without leave (AWOL), while the deaths of four other soldiers were prevented, according to strana.ua.

“The organizers contacted military personnel through Telegram and offered them free drugs. After the packages were delivered, they instructed the recipients to consume the substances on camera,” police said.

Investigators suspect that the teenager was recruited by Russia to carry out the operation.
