The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tajikistan has hosted a ceremonial reception marking November 8 - Victory Day.
The event brought together Gairat Azizzoda, Chairman of the Tajikistan-Azerbaijan Friendship Group in Parliament, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, students, and other distinguished guests, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
In his address, Ambassador Alimirzamin Asgarov emphasized that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army liberated its territories from nearly 30 years of occupation within just 44 days.
He also spoke about the ongoing challenges posed by landmines, the victims of mine explosions, and the implementation of the “Great Return” program - a large-scale initiative to rebuild liberated territories. The ambassador highlighted Azerbaijan’s achievements in urban development and reconstruction efforts.
The event concluded with video presentations about Victory Day and Azerbaijan, a photo exhibition, and displays of books and magazines showcasing the country’s rich culture. Guests were treated to traditional Azerbaijani cuisine and sweets, adding a warm cultural touch to the evening.
