Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin has met with Arthur Erken, Regional Director of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for Europe and Central Asia, during the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) in Avaza, Turkmenistan, where they reviewed current cooperation and explored opportunities to strengthen their partnership.
During the same event, Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmet Gurbanov also met with the IOM delegation led by Erken, who praised Turkmenistan’s proactive and constructive approach to strengthening migration policies and its firm commitment to promoting orderly, safe, and legal migration, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.
The sides discussed ongoing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IOM.
Participants underscored the success of Turkmenistan’s partnerships with various international and regional organizations. They also highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan hosting the conference, which serves as a key forum for addressing critical issues faced by landlocked developing countries.
During the talks, Turkmenistan confirmed its dedication to continuing active participation in IOM-led projects and initiatives.
