World Bank Launches Mission to Modernize Tajikistan’s National Statistics System

A World Bank mission has officially started its work at the Statistics Agency under the President of Tajikistan.

Led by Alisher Rajabov and a team of World Bank experts, the mission aims to support the implementation and monitoring of the National Statistical System Modernization project, The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.

During the visit, Agency Director Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda met with the World Bank team to discuss project progress, upcoming tasks, and the mission’s agenda. Working group sessions with specialists from the Statistics Agency and Ministry of Finance are also planned to address key aspects of the modernization program.

The mission team will visit local statistical offices to better understand operational challenges and ensure effective implementation of reforms. The World Bank mission is set to continue its work through November 14, 2025.

This initiative follows recent World Bank-backed projects in seven cities of Kazakhstan, highlighting the bank’s growing regional engagement in modernizing national statistical systems.
