Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in the informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the President of Azerbaijan in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Region.

The Turkmen leader was welcomed at Issyk-Kul International Airport by Kyrgyzstan’s Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliyev, 24.kg reports.

The meeting is expected to bring together the leaders of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan to discuss regional cooperation, stronger partnerships and key issues on the international and regional agenda.

The gathering comes as Central Asian states and Azerbaijan continue to strengthen political and economic ties and expand cooperation on issues of shared regional importance.

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev is also in Kyrgyzstan for the high-level meeting.
