Turkmenistan and Somalia Pledge to Enhance Cooperation

On August 4, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, held a meeting with Isaac Mohamud Mursal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somalia.

During the meeting, the parties expressed the interest of the two countries to actively develop ties in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, The Caspian Post reports citing the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The effectiveness of partnership within international organizations, in particular the UN, was noted. The Somali side supports Turkmenistan's peace-loving initiatives and is ready to continue constructive partnership for the benefit of global peace and sustainable development.

In this context, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan in practice confirms its commitment to the high ideals of peace, mutual respect and understanding between peoples.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somalia noted the special significance of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC 3) and highly appreciated the efforts of the Government of Turkmenistan in holding this event.
