Melek Velizade is a journalist. She began her career in journalism in 2001, periodically publishing articles on cultural topics in the newspaper Zerkalo. From 2008 to 2009, she served as the editor-in-chief of the socio-political newspaper Press Diaspora. Over the years, she has contributed as an author to television channels such as ATV, AZ TV, and SPASE.

While working at the Music Academy, she started collecting musical material from various countries, traveling on scientific expeditions. The first such destination was Kabul, Afghanistan. She prepared articles for nine different publications, all the while continuing to gather musical material.
