A 34-year-old schoolteacher has been killed inside a school building in the Asaka district of the Andijan region in Uzbekistan.

The incident occurred on January 27. Investigators said a domestic dispute escalated between spouses who both worked at the same school, resulting in the man intentionally killing his wife, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

After the incident, the suspect returned home and attempted to harm himself. A relative took him to a medical facility, where he received treatment. Doctors said his life is not in danger.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 97, Part 1 of Uzbekistan’s Criminal Code (intentional murder). Investigative actions are ongoing as authorities work to establish all circumstances of the case.
