A new international employment opportunity is opening up for Uzbek citizens - and it could lead straight to one of the world’s top airlines.

Officials from Uzbekistan have reached an agreement with Qatar to enable citizens to work at the country’s flagship carrier, Qatar Airways, following talks in Doha between migration and foreign ministry representatives and Qatar’s labor authorities, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Uzbekistan.

As part of the first phase, around 65 candidates will be selected in May-June for roles including flight attendants, engineers, and airport staff.

But this is just the beginning. Qatar is also planning a much larger recruitment drive, aiming to hire up to 1,600 highly qualified specialists from Uzbekistan in fields such as piloting, mechanics, electrical engineering, and technical operations.
