Uzbekistan is eyeing closer economic ties with Sweden as the Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN) explores new investment and trade projects in the country.
During a high-level meeting between Uzbek Ambassador Rahmatulla Nurimbetov and EKN CEO Åke Nordlander, both sides discussed opportunities to leverage export credit mechanisms, boost sustainable development, and strengthen strategic cooperation across sectors such as energy, minerals, and infrastructure, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
The meeting focused on supporting bilateral projects and improving Uzbekistan’s international credit and investment ratings.
Officials highlighted key sectors for future cooperation, including sustainable energy, critical minerals, water infrastructure, and energy-efficient construction.
Both sides agreed to advance promising projects through the Team Sweden framework and to strengthen ongoing institutional dialogue.
