A new digital money transfer service has been launched in the US, allowing users to send funds directly to bank cards issued by Uzbekistan’s HUMO and UZCARD payment systems.

The uPay.net platform was founded in New York by Uzbek entrepreneurs Husrav Mahmudov and Akmal Abdullayev and is primarily aimed at Uzbek migrants supporting their families back home, Dunyo reports.

Previously, users could use the service to pay for mobile communications, internet, utility bills and other services in Uzbekistan. The platform has now expanded its functionality, enabling direct money transfers to HUMO and UZCARD cards.

The company said the launch focused heavily on complying with financial regulations in both the US and Uzbekistan, while ensuring secure transactions and a convenient user experience. To support the new service, the company developed the necessary banking, technological and compliance infrastructure.
