Uzbekistan brought in 6,950 passenger vehicles valued at $115.1 million in the first quarter of 2025, according to the country's Statistics Committee.
China remained the leading exporter, accounting for the bulk of car imports with 5,235 units. South Korea followed with 1,425 vehicles, while significantly smaller volumes came from India (144), Japan (77), and the United States (18). An additional 51 cars were imported from other countries, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan’s automotive industry manufactured 89,848 passenger cars, excluding special-purpose light vehicles, which added another 7,426 units.
The Cobalt remained the most produced model, with 32,208 units rolled out between January and March. It was followed by Damas (22,409 units), Onix (11,774), Tracker (10,513), Kia (6,150), BYD (2,913), Chery (1,996), and Haval (1,885).
