Uzbekistan’s National Agency of Perspective Projects (NAPP) issued a licence to MONETEX LLC to operate a crypto shop on October 26, the agency said.
The licence was granted in accordance with regulations governing the licensing of service providers in the crypto-asset market. The relevant details have been added to the agency’s electronic licence register, The Caspian Post reports, citing UzDaily.
According to the register, the company was issued licence No. CS 0021. Its sole founder is Sherzod Kasimov, and it is registered in Tashkent’s Mirzo-Ulugbek District.
Following the issuance of the new licence, NAPP’s register now contains 22 licences for crypto-asset service providers held by 17 companies, as some firms are authorised to operate in multiple segments.
Two companies hold crypto exchange licences: ASTERIUM JSC and COINPAY LLC.
Six companies are licensed to operate crypto depositories: LOCKTON HUB, PAYNET CRYPTO, the joint venture JAPAN DXT, CITY PAY GATE, TGHAMYON and ASTERIUM.
Crypto shops account for the largest segment, with 14 licences listed in the register. NAPP has suspended the operations of five crypto shops for six months: CRYPTO EXPRESS from June 1, CRYPTO MAGNAT from September 1, and CRYPTOCORP, C-CASH and T-FIRM from October 1, 2026.
Nine crypto shops are currently operating without restrictions: PAYNET CRYPTO, T-REX, CITY PAY GATE, C-BASE, ASTERIUM, UNEX PAYMENTS, NAQD-EX, COINPAY and MONETEX.
In 2026, the agency revoked two licences. KOBEA GROUP’s crypto exchange licence was revoked in May, while CRYPTO MARKET’s crypto shop licence was cancelled in September after the company failed to apply for its renewal.
