Uzbekistan Names First Ambassador to South Africa

Ashraf Khojaev has been appointed as Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to the Republic of South Africa (RSA).

He will also continue to serve as the country’s ambassador to Qatar, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

In Pretoria, at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse, Ashraf Khojaev presented his credentials to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa as Uzbekistan’s ambassador.

Khojaev was appointed Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Qatar last year. Prior to that, he headed one of the departments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
