Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who is visiting Uzbekistan on a working visit, on October 26.

The leaders expressed satisfaction that active high-level dialogue and consistent efforts had elevated relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar to the level of a strategic partnership, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uza.uz.

They noted that the close ties would contribute to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

The sides discussed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level and agreed to expand joint projects in trade, the economy, investment, and the social and humanitarian sectors.

The leaders also exchanged views on key global and regional issues.
