Uzbekistan Sees Surge in Car Imports, with China as Top Supplier

In 2024, Uzbekistan saw the arrival of 74,700 passenger cars, totaling a value of $1.28 billion.

According to the country's Statistics Agency, China has the largest share of total car imports: 61,000 units, or 81.6 percent, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

South Korea took second place on this list with 11,900 vehicles. The United States (639), India (577), and Japan (168) are also recognized as the leading suppliers.

As previously reported over the past year, the number of vehicles imported into Uzbekistan from abroad has increased by more than 20 percent.

In October 2024, Kazakhstan also purchased 20 freight wagons from the Foundry Mechanical Plant, part of Uzbekistan Railway JSC.
