Türkiye-Iran Flights Partially Resume After 15-Day Suspension

Türkiye’s Transportation Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced Friday that Iranian carriers will resume flights between Mashhad and Istanbul, marking a partial reopening of air travel between the two countries.

The move comes after a 15-day suspension caused by Israeli airstrikes, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkish media.

Uraloğlu confirmed on social media that Mashhad’s airspace in eastern Iran has now reopened to international flights, allowing the gradual restoration of Türkiye-Iran air connections.

"The airspace in the cities of Tehran and Tabriz, located in western Iran, will remain closed, and the current restriction will continue until Wednesday, July 2," he said.

Uraloglu stressed that Türkiye is continuing discussions with Iranian authorities regarding the repatriation of Turkish aircraft remaining in Iran with special permission.

"Efforts are ongoing both to fully restore reciprocal flights with Iran and to bring our aircraft in Iran back to our country as soon as possible," he added.
