Uzbekistan to Establish New Air Force Combat Command with Digital Control System

Uzbekistan is set to strengthen its military aviation capabilities with the creation of a new Air Force Combat Command equipped with a modern digital command-and-control system.

The initiative is part of a presidential decree signed by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and aims to modernize the country's air defense and aviation forces, The Caspian Post reports via Newshub.

Uzbek Defense Minister Shukhrat Kholmukhamedov said that the new command structure will be formed on the basis of the existing Air Force organization within Uzbekistan’s Armed Forces.

Kholmukhamedov said the reform includes the creation of new military units equipped with precision-guided weapons, advanced aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
