Uzbekistan has proposed developing a new strategic vision for “Central Asia-Korea: Partnership for Accelerated Development,” President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Summit.

Mirziyoyev also proposed establishing a Central Asia-Korea Industrial and Technology Park in Uzbekistan and creating a Regional Investment Alliance on Critical Minerals to support the development of large processing clusters across the region, according to Sputnik Uzbekistan.

He said a platform bringing together the region’s industry and trade ministers could help increase Central Asia’s trade with South Korea to $20 billion by 2030.

The Uzbek president also called for launching a Climate and Carbon Partnership between Central Asian countries and South Korea.

The proposals are aimed at expanding industrial cooperation, attracting investment and developing higher-value processing industries across Central Asia.
