Armenia, Türkiye Leaders Hail Steps Toward Greater Engagement

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed the bilateral agenda and welcomed the deepening of their engagements during a phone call on June 2, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Pashinyan extended Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha) greetings, while Erdoğan congratulated the Armenian Prime Minister on his 51st birthday, which he marked on June 1, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenpress.

The two leaders also highlighted the recent visit by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz to Armenia for the European Political Community summit, the decision to define procedures for direct trade between Armenia and Türkiye, as well as the opening of the Akhalkalaki-Kars railway for Armenian exports and imports.
