Armenian PM’s Office Unveils Three MoUs Signed With US

The Armenian prime minister’s office has published three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed with the US on August 8 during the Washington summit.

One of the signed documents is a Memorandum of Understanding on Partnership in AI and Semiconductor Innovation, The Caspian Post informs via Armenian media.

According to the MoU, both sides aim to address priorities in the semiconductor supply chain and artificial intelligence development by:

Exploring opportunities to further develop Armenia’s semiconductor ecosystem;

Expanding mutual information exchange on best practices in building secure semiconductor supply chains and AI applications.

The second document is a Memorandum of Understanding on Partnership to Strengthen the “Crossroads of Peace” Project, which focuses on enhancing Armenia’s border security through training, leveraging US government resources, and applying best practices from the US Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection. The MoU also emphasizes increasing investments in cybersecurity operations and promoting private sector investment in Armenia’s infrastructure modernization and border security sector.

The third document is a Memorandum of Understanding on Partnership in Energy Security between the US and Armenian governments, confirming their shared commitment to cooperation in civil nuclear energy. The MoU outlines joint efforts to address Armenia’s energy sector priorities by:

Encouraging private sector investment;

Expanding collaboration in civil nuclear energy;

Enhancing protection of critical energy facilities;

Improving energy resilience and independence of critical and social infrastructure;

Developing regional energy cooperation and cross-border energy trade;

Supporting skills development and capacity building for Armenia’s energy sector workforce.

All three memoranda take effect from the date of signing and are valid for one year.
