Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney has arrived in Yerevan, Armenia, to take part in the 8th summit of the European Political Community (EPC).

He was welcomed at the airport by Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, marking the start of a high-profile visit, The Caspian Post reports via Armenian media.

Carney’s presence is particularly notable, as he becomes the first non-European leader invited to attend the summit as a guest since the platform was established-highlighting the growing global relevance of the EPC format.
