Azerbaijani female boxer Gular Huseynova has delivered a remarkable performance at the Third CIS Games, clinching the gold medal in the girls’ 48kg boxing category.
In a gripping final match, Huseynova defeated Russia’s athlete Daria Gavrina, showcasing skill, resilience, and determination to secure the top spot on the podium, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Competitions are being held in eight kinds of sports, including four additional disciplines.
Sambo events are being held at the Goygol Olympic Sports Complex, boxing at the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex, and taekwondo at the Mingachevir Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center. Volleyball matches are staged at the Ganja Sports Palace.
The Third CIS Games, brought together 1,624 athletes from 13 countries, will continue until October 8.
