Morocco and Azerbaijan are exploring joint leadership roles in global healthcare initiatives in a significant move to strengthen international health cooperation.
A high-profile international conference dedicated to the latest innovations in medical science was held in the Moroccan city of Quneitra, bringing together prominent scientists, medical experts, and members of the diplomatic community, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Among the keynote speakers was Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Morocco, Nazim Samadov, who highlighted Azerbaijan’s achievements in the healthcare sector and its growing role in global health initiatives.
In his address, Samadov underscored Azerbaijan’s humanitarian contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that the country had extended medical and humanitarian aid to more than 80 countries and international organizations.
The ambassador also touched on the expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Morocco in science and education. He noted that Moroccan students have the opportunity to study at Azerbaijan Medical University and benefit from various academic exchange and research programs, fostering deeper ties between the two nations in the field of medicine and higher education.
In recognition of his efforts to promote bilateral cooperation and mutual understanding, Samadov was presented with a special award at the conclusion of the conference.
