Azerbaijani Deaflympic judoka Aydin Azizov has won a silver medal at the inaugural Ecole Mont-Olivet Deaf Judo Masters Top 18 tournament held in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Competing in the men’s under-81kg category, Azizov fought three bouts under a round-robin format and ultimately secured second place, according to the Azerbaijan Deaflympics Committee.

During the competition, he faced opponents from Kazakhstan, France and Hungary.

Azizov also made history as the first Azerbaijani athlete to win a silver medal in the under-81kg category at the newly launched Masters Top 18 tournament.
