Armenian Civil Society Delegation Visits Azerbaijan to Advance Peace Dialogue

A delegation of Armenian civil society representatives has visited Azerbaijan as part of the “Bridge of Peace” Initiative.

The Armenian delegation, namely, Areg Kochinyan, Boris Navasardyan, Naira Sultanyan, Narek Minasyan, and Samvel Meliksetyan, held meetings with their Azerbaijani counterparts, including Farhad Mammadov, Rusif Huseynov, Kamala Mammadova, Ramil Iskandarli, and Fuad Abdullayev, The Caspian Post informs via local media.

Discussions focused on the current dynamics of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the role of civil society in fostering dialogue, and potential joint projects for the near future. The meetings also addressed topics of mutual interest to both societies concerning the ongoing peace initiatives.

Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the media, establish direct contacts between expert groups, and ensure the continued engagement of civil society from both countries in advancing the peace agenda. They also committed to maintaining regular working-level contacts and planning future visits under the initiative.

During the visit, the delegation met with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant of the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration. The discussion highlighted steps taken by Azerbaijan and Armenia following the Washington meeting to further progress the peace agenda. Hajiyev also addressed questions from the delegation, emphasizing the commitment to dialogue and cooperation.
