Azerbaijan Airlines Announces Compensation for Injured Passengers, Families of Deceased in Plane Crash

In accordance with a decision made by the Supervisory Board of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), each passenger injured in the crash of the "Embraer 190" aircraft, flight J2-8243, which occurred on December 25 in Kazakhstan, will receive compensation of 20,000 manats.

Additionally, the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident, which involved a flight traveling from Baku to Grozny, will be provided with 40,000 manats, The Caspian Post reports.

Furthermore, all passengers will be entitled to insurance compensation as per the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and international standards.

A passenger plane Embraer 190 of the Azerbaijan Airlines, crashed on December 25 near the Kazakh city of Aktau en route from Baku to Grozny. There were 69 people on board, including citizens of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. According to the latest data, 38 people died and 29 survived.
