A cultural and tourism event titled “Experience Azerbaijan” has been held in Hanoi, jointly organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), and the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism.
The event sought to strengthen bilateral relations and promote Azerbaijan’s culture and tourism opportunities in Vietnam, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
It gathered key figures including ATB CEO Florian Sengstschmid, VNAT Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, ambassadors, tourism experts, representatives of Vietnamese institutions, and students from the college.
In her opening remarks, Trinh Thi Thu Ha, Rector of the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism, highlighted the role of cultural exchange in fostering stronger ties between the two nations.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Shovgi Mehdizade, noted that bilateral relations had reached a new level following the May 2025 visit of To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to Azerbaijan, which elevated ties to a strategic partnership.
Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai underlined the prospects for tourism cooperation, noting that Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage, historic landmarks, and natural beauty could appeal to Vietnamese tourists. She emphasized that joint initiatives and exchange programs would further enhance mutual understanding.
ATB CEO Florian Sengstschmid outlined Azerbaijan’s tourism development strategy, inviting Vietnamese visitors to discover a country where ancient traditions, modern lifestyles, and diverse landscapes meet. ATB representative Gunel Alakbarova delivered a presentation showcasing Azerbaijan’s tourism potential and top destinations.
The event concluded with a Q&A session and a presentation on Vietnam’s tea culture, underscoring the importance of mutual cultural appreciation in strengthening bilateral ties.
