Azerbaijan Eyes EU Market for Premium Black Caviar Exports

Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Fish Producers and Processors Association Zaur Salmanli has said that Azerbaijan may soon begin to export black caviar to the EU markets.

Salmanli said that shipments could start at the turn of 2025-2026, with negotiations and contacts currently underway, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

“I hope that starting in 2026, we will be able to fully benefit from the support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture. These support mechanisms include tax exemptions, technical assistance, and other measures,” he noted.

The chairman added that the registration of fish farms in Azerbaijan is actively ongoing, and a management framework will be established once the process is complete.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s fish production has shown growth, with the 2024 catch rising by 1.2 per cent year-on-year to 67,299 tons.
